𐑑𐑛
totdead

The letter 𐑑 makes the sound of "t". Like the letter "t", it is pointed.

The letter 𐑛 makes the sound of "d".

You may notice that 𐑑 and 𐑛 look the same, only given a half turn. This is because they make the same sound, except that with 𐑛 your vocal cords are vibrating. (Try saying both sounds while touching the front of your neck.) This pattern is almost everywhere in the Shavian alphabet.

You can also see that 𐑑 is a tall letter, and 𐑛 is a deep letter.

Now you can write:

toe𐑑𐑴"toe", or "tow"
oat𐑴𐑑"oat"
ode𐑴𐑛"ode", a kind of poem
dough𐑛𐑴"dough", or "doe", or the note "Do"
toad𐑑𐑴𐑛"toad"
